Fishing at Bayfield RV Park
There have been many really big trout taken in our waters, and you don’t need a license to fish in the RV park.
Whether you prefer “matching the hatch” and making accurate casts on our grass-lined streams, fishing a classic free-stone river, or testing your still-water angling skills, Bayfield Riverside RV Park provides all three – literally on your doorstep.
If you consider how strategically we’re located to other prime lakes and rivers nearby, we’re confident you’ll want to extend your stay. Our pond and streams are stocked annually and the fish usually “winter-over” successfully. As a result, our fish are growing in size and numbers. Catch and release practices also assure that the “big guys” are around to tease many an angler – young and old.
Fishing Requirements for Catch & Release
We provide these guidelines so you can have the right equipment with you when you arrive, for an enjoyable fishing experience.
- No live bait, plastic worms or power bait please!
- Only use small trout lures or flies with a single barbless hook.
- Sharp nose pliers are required for safe release of fish.
Fishing in the Durango Area
The Durango area offers some of the best quality fishing in the USA. You can go it alone or take a custom guided fly fishing trip, but you will need a licence outside of the Bayfield Riverside RV Park.
Vallecito Lake, Lemon Reservoir and Navajo Lake are all within easy driving distance, or you can fish the Animas River right in Durango.
